Pop of color

When I'm out I casually look for inexpensive things to add more pops of color to our living room.  Our colors were mainly blue, brown, and shades of cream/beige.  I've been wanting to add pops of red and green, and perhaps even yellow.  I think it's amazing what even the slightest change or addition can make.

Left side of living room BEFORE... = BORING!

...and AFTER.  Tiny addition = BIG difference!

Found this little beauty at Kohl's for about $5.  I know some of you are thinking, "Really?  I could have made that for 10 cents."  Well, I cannot make things like that.  I'd rather just find it somewhere, our eyes meet, I make a purchase, and I'm done.
I'm not big on buying fake flowers because most of them look way TOO fake, but these are pretty nice.  And they almost give an exotic, beachy feel.  Winner!

  1. So true...splashes of color. I started a notebook for the "brown house" (my old house). and I'm putting ideas for each room in there, pictures of things I want/like, projects I hope to do, etc. I realized that my ideas are pretty consistent (sage, deep dark red, camel/goldish yellow) and may even be somewhat mundane. So...from May til August (moving season for us), I hope I can bring some splashes of color to our new (old) house. And YOU can help. Yippy Skippy!
