Beachy waves
When I wear my hair wavy, I am often asked how I do it. It's really quite simple and fast.
First, when my hair is damp, I run a small amount of Bumble and Bumble's grooming creme through it. I mentioned it in a previous post. This gives my hair some body and helps prep it for styling.
Then I take my curling iron (no idea what size it is, had it forever. 1.5 inch, maybe??) and add slight curl/wave to the middle of the hair strands. (If you curl the ends you lose the wavy, beachy look.) Fortunately my hair holds curl and styles really well, so I literally only have to hold the iron for about a second before releasing. Plus, the goal is waves, not tight curls. And it takes me all of 5 minutes to acheive this look. You don't even have to curl the whole head of hair. Just put waves in the layers that are showing. I think it's more natural looking that way, too. You can also achieve this using a flat iron. I just prefer my curling iron. Oh, and it is helpful if your hair is layered. If your hair is one length, you may want to vary the levels/height of the waves to achieve an all-over wavy look. :)
